Tendinitis and Bursitis
What is Tendinitis and Bursitis?
Tendinitis is the inflammation or irritation of a tendon, which is a thick cord that attaches bone to muscle. Often caused by repetitive minor impact on the affected area. Simple activities such as gardening, carpentry, shoveling, and painting can cause tendinitis. Risk factors also include stressors from other conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, gout, and thyroid disorders.
Bursitis is the inflammation or irritation of the bursa, a sac filled with lubricating fluid between tissues such as bone, muscle, tendons, and skin, that decreases rubbing, friction, and irritation.
