IDET (Intradiscal Electrothermal Therapy)

IDET is a minimally invasive treatment for those who have chronic lower back pain that results from certain types of degenerative disc diseases. Before undergoing the procedure, patients usually have a preliminary discogram test in which the abnormal lumbar disc or discs are injected with dye. This makes it clear which disc will respond well to IDET treatment.

Many back pain conditions are commonly used for IDET, but the most common is degenerative disc disease or contained disc herniation.
